Front Description
A marvelous example of an early movie tie-in pin honoring Sleeping Beauty.
A vintage Walt Disney Productions pin featuring Aurora (left facing right) gazing into the eyes of Prince Phillip (right facing left), holding hands. Both appear to be kneeling, getting ready to kiss each other.
The pin is done in gold with paint on it, suggesting a date in the early 1960s or in 1959 when the movie premiered. The prince has an orange-red top and boots; Aurora has a light blue or teal dress and painted white top and yellow hair. "SLEEPING BEAUTY" is in red below them and they are encircled in a gold heart with a pearl-like blue or teal background (which may be a plastic of some kind...it is visible from the back). This all hangs from a dangle, attached to a gold scroll of teal with "Sleeping Beauty" again listed.
The pin measures 1 3/8" (36 mm) wide by 1 3/4" (45 mm) tall. The backstamp is on the top piece and reads, "© WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS." It has the old-style straight back clasp.
