This is the prototype of pin 15254 sold by Disney Auctions in late 2002.
Text for the original pin:
This limited edition boxed pin released for the Disneyland Haunted Mansion Holiday (HMH) Event features a translucent stained glass image of the Fireplace scene as it appears in the Stretching Portaits Gallery. The flames glow green in the dark.
It comes in a wooden box and is the 2nd in a series.
The back layer of this pin is bright gold metal finished, the upper layer is black gun-metal finish.
For the prototype:
Compared to the original pin the flames on this prototype do glow green / orange in the dark, the back metal is silver and it shows just the translucent inner part of the pin, it does not come with the golden frame and the haunted mansion typing on it. Back says only (c) Disney China and has 2 pinbacks.
