Front Description
This is an old painted metal pin of Donald Duck on snow skis. It is one of a series of at least three pins featuring Disney characters involved in winter activities. All the pins in this series were dipped in white enamel (such as was done with pots and pans in the 1940s) and then hand painted.
Donald Duck, heading left but face turned right, is definitely not watching where he is going as he is skiing. He wears his trademark blue sailor suit, plus red ear muffs. The skis are brown and he carries green ski poles with red stabilizers at the bottom. His left foot is lifted and Donald is looking upward (do you see an accident in the near future?).
The detailed 3D pin measures 1 7/8" (47 mm) tall and wide. The backstamp is, "© WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS."
