PP53580    Discovery Island - A New World Is Discovered Everyday (Blue)

This round button is from the now closed Discovery Island attraction which was located in Bay Lake behind the Contemporary Resort. The button has a robin's egg blue background with the words "A New World Is Discovered Everyday" in deep pink around the top rim of the button. A picture of a white hatching bird is in the center and the words "Discovery Island" in yellow beneath the bird. Just below "Discovery Island" is (C)Disney. Button measures 1 3/4". The island closed to the public when Animal Kingdom opened. All caged animals were transferred to Animal Kingdom. Discovery Island was an area where you could go and learn about nature and had a large aviary. Discovery Island still remains home to a large quantity of wild birds that naturally nest there.
