Front Description
Mickey Mouse, facing left, uses old-fashioned rollerskating to deliver the mail. He is dressed in blue mail carrier uniform and carries a yellow mail bag over his shoulder. He carries a piece of mail in his right hand. The rollerskates are black and dark blue. Mickey also wears a pith helmet hat.
The entire scene is a reproduction of an actual stamp released in Maldives in 1979 (it is unsure whether this pin was also issued at that time). It is a dark orange stamp with gold border. "Republic of Maldives" is in black at the top, "5L" and "MICKEY MOUSE" is below that, with "© MCMLXXIX Walt Disney Productions" in gold across the bottom.
Though a similar pose, this is quite different in coloring to (#16380) and does not have a little man logo as (#16380) has.
The pin measures 1 1/2" (32 mm) wide by 1 1/2" (38 mm) tall.
Back Description
There are several backstamp versions - all from the Jayne Co. The one I have reads, "JAYNE CO., SANTA MONICA, CALIF., 800-523-8698." (Note: this number is no longer applicable to Jayne Co.)
