This medallion was sold as a "Keyring" made by Monogram International. In order to convert it, all that needed to be done was remove the ring. The clip comes attached as shown.

 

This Medallion features the inner workings of Jack Sparrow's compass, Below the compass is a banner reading "Disney Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End."
