Front Description
This real glass cloisonné pin is the prototype of Pin 11657, sold in the Disney Gallery back in the 1990s. It is the same size as the actual production version, 1.75 inches in diameter, and has the same color background.
The differences are:
1) Donald is outlined in black, instead of dark silver.
2) The color finish on the back and around the edges looks to be distinctly darker, but this may be because the pebble-like surface is not as clearly pronounced as it is in Pin 11657.
3) The very dark silver finish on the rim extends a bit onto the face of the pin.
4) The pin itself is distinctly heavier than the actual production run.
5) There is a pendant loop center top of the back above the brooch-back.
6) The copyright information is smaller and a bit different. There is a small box lower center back containing three lines:
the
BRENDA WHILE
collection
And underneath the box, these two lines:

Made in China
The pin was acquired from The Artist herself who retained control of the prototypes. The Artist said Disney switched to a different manufacturer for the actual production run.
