First in a series of 10 to celebrate Walt's 100th birthday. This is an antiqued (bronze)brass-style replica of his first business card. The card shows Walt (drawn by himself) working at an artist's easel. In black filled engraving the card reads, "Walt Disney Cartoonist. Comic cartoons, advertising cartoons, animated motion picture cartoons."
It is sold in a tab closure collector's box marked "Walt Disney 100th Year, Ce1ebrating His Life and Legacy." As well as "#1 Collect all 10." The pin is mounted on a simulated black velvet backer card.
On the back of box it has, "As a child, Walt Disney had always loved to draw. A persistent Disney family legend recalls some of his earlier artistic efforts on the side of their whitewashed farmhouse...painted with tar! The young man honed his talents in the spare moments between school and work, entertaining friends with his clever caricatures. After serving in France as a WWI Red Cross ambulance driver, a grown Walt returned home in 1919, resolved to pursue a cartooning career. He drew this whimsical calling card, and set out to seek his fortune."
The box measures 2 1/2" x 3" x 1".
