PP58746    Brier Manufacturing - Antique Jiminy Cricket from 1940s Pinocchio Series

Front Description

Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio is one of at least two pins created by Brier Manufacturing (one of the earliest licensed Disney pin manufacturers) to commemorate the original release of Pinocchio in February of 1940.

Jiminy is a plastic or Bakelite pin; he faces left, standing, with his arms stretched outward and downward with palms out. He is hand-painted, so there will be some variation on each pin. He wears a red vest, black boat, steel blue top hat with yellow trim, blue spats - shoes - with yellow trim.

The pin measures 1 1/4" (32 mm) wide by 1 3/4" (43 mm) tall. The back has an old-style straight back pinback and reads, "© WDP." (Short for Walt Disney Productions.) It is listed in Tomart's as AA0111.

There is another pin in this series, Pinocchio (#17893).
