Front Description
This is the Lilly Belle from the the Walt Disney train barn group. It is the Lilly Belle when it was the Retlaw 1. It has red, white and blue stripes on the side. It is long and has two pin backs.
One of a limited edition of 300 pins based on the original Retlaw One consist that circled the park from opening day until 1974. It was decided the cars offered limited viewing and took too long to load and unload, as a result they were taken out of service.
Pin was produced and sold to raise funds for Carolwood Foundation projects. Carolwood is focused on the history, restoration, and preservation Walt Disney's railroad and Walt's personal legacy, as railroading was a personal avocation of Walt. The Carolwood Pacific was the name of the railroad Walt had in the back yard of his Holmby Hills estate.
This particular pin is based on the Grand Canyon observation coach that is now the Lilly Belle parlor car in use at Disneyland.
The pin was produced with Disney's approval for the Carolwood Pacific Foundation.
The pin is approx. 2 1/4" wide and 5/8" tall.
