Front Description
The 12-pin MAIN STREET GAZETTE: HERE'S THE SCOOP! pin-of-the-month series was released at WDW around the first of each month throughout 2008. The series features Mickey disguised as Scoop Sanderson, Magic Kingdom's Main Street Gazette reporter, experiencing classic Walt Disney World attractions. Each shaped pin contains a pin-on-pin element. The backs of the backer cards, printed to look like newsprint paper, share fun facts or trivia about each ride, as reported by Scoop. Rachael Sur from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin.
In this January pin (first of the series), Scoop reports on an eerily familiar voice emanating from the Haunted Mansion ride at Magic Kingdom Park. The pin features Scoop, in a ride car, passing through a haunted scene with Madame Leota. The car is a pin-on-pin element.
From the front of the card: THE SCOOP! EERILY FAMILIAR VOICE EMANATES FROM HAUNTED MANSION!
From the back of the card: HAUNTED MANSION FACT UNVEILED! The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square houses 999 Happy Haunts and ONE BIG SECRET! Scoop, on the scene, listens closely to the voice of the enchanted fortune teller Madame Leota. EUREKA! It is, in all actuality, famed voice talent Eleanor Audley speaking. Her spirited sound is also credited for bringing an icy chill to Lady Tremaine in Walt Disney's Cinderella, and a little size to fiery-tongued Maleficent in Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Eleanor Audley -- one of the best at being bad. .That's the scoop!
Rides in the series include Haunted Mansion, Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror, Mission: SPACE, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Star Tours, It's a Small World, Test Track, Soarin, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.
