This pin (released on 1/20/08) is the first pin of the Piece of Disney History III set. It contains pieces of the parrots feathers from the attraction The Carousel of Progress in the Magic Kingdom in WDW. The period represented here is the second scene, the 1920s. The man is John, the dog is Rover.
The excitement of the Piece of Disney History collection returns to Walt Disney World® Resort in 2008. This pin-of-the-month collection will feature pieces of actual Walt Disney World® Attractions.
This limited edition pin contains feathers from the Audio-Animatronics® Parrot found in Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom® Park. The parrot can be seen sitting in its cage next to the grandmother during the first show. The attraction was first seen at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair, and opened at the Walt Disney World® Resort in 1975. Artwork for this pin was created by Disney Design Group artist Rachael Sur.

This silver-finished, textured-back. It is backstamped with a box containing the 2008 pin trading logo and, "A Piece of Disney History III-1 OF 12-Walt Disney"s-CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS", a box containing, "©DISNEY-CHINA", and a box containing, "LIMITED EDITION OF-3500".
