Front Description
The Ambassador Disney program was started in 1964, and is a pinnacle of achievement for any Disney Cast Member. Cast Members compete to fulfill the duties of this coveted role: the chosen Cast Member serves as the Ambassador for that resort, making public appearances, escorting V.I.P.'s, attending important park functions and local community events, and travelling to various locales to promote Disney and it's wholesome family brand of entertainment. This pin is reportedly worn on the Ambassador's lanyard, as well as provided to Cast Member's who have an integral relationship to the Ambassador Program. There is only one Ambassador per resort, which means one each for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. Each selected Cast Member serves in that capacity for one year. As of 2007, this is the current pin in use.
This pin shows the early Disney globe logo with Mickey ears in Gold on a white background with the Disney-scripted letter D, with a blue banner at the bottom marked in gold lettering "AMBASSADOR". This pin measures a mere 1 inch, the same as pin 12946.
It is stamped on the rear as Disney pin Trading with the Mickey logo, 2007, and C. Disney China.
