This is a silver-finished pin, and silver tends to photograph black, and/or very dark grey.

Alice is shown from the waist up, facing right but looking front. Her left arm is resting on top of a low red and black circular base that has a ring of red hearts across its bottom. The hearts are outlined in silver, as is the black and red sections of the base. Alice is dressed in her trademark blue dress with a white apron/pinafore. She has a black ribbon in her blond hair. The color of her eyes matches the blue of her dress.

Dinah, her cat, is sleeping on top of Alice's right arm. Dinah is facing left. Her nose and paws are white. Her face and the inside of her ears are the same flesh-color as Alice's face, ear, neck, right arm, and left hand (which is petting Dinah as she sleeps on her back). Dinah's fur is brown, and the however half of her body is laying down over the right side of the base. Dinah is wearing a pink bow, of which just the right and left tips can be seen. Her closed eyes, whiskers, and nose are drawn in silver. But there is a hint of brown color on her nose, not as solid as suggested by the picture, but in two separate pieces outlined in silver.

Rising behind Alice on the right, is the red and black Pawn chess piece. The silver Hidden Mickey is in the center of the round black top of the Pawn. The red and black portions of the Pawn are outlined in silver.
