Front Description
Nice Oval pin with Timon and Pumbaa eating bugs, yellow background with blue trim. something to do with the Pest Management department of The Land attraction at Epcot, where they have all those indoor gardens. The Pest Management team manages the various living organisms which provide benefits to the plants. The front of the pin says "Walt Diney World Pest Management 2000"
There are actually 2 different pins which look very similar. The one pictured is a bright yellow which was given to attendees (seminar) at Disneyana Conv. in 1999. The actual departmental pin #11994 is a deeper brownish yellow (like the difference between French's mustard and Guldens). There is also a 2001 version of the pin #6860.
This textured-back, gold-finished pin measures 1 1/16" tall by 1 9/16" wide.
The pin comes in a small white box with a sticker on it that shows a picture of a red ladybug getting ready to catch an aphid on top of a green leaf. Above the leaf, it says "Beneficial Insect Release", and below the leaf it says, "Disney's Pest Management." The printing on the sticker is in black, except for "Beneficial," which is red.
