PP6273    WDW - Tinker Bell - Pins Around Our World

Released as part of the Epcot pin celebration on 8-11,2001. Features Tinker Bell "flying" around a 3-D globe. The background is dark teal and says Pins Around our World across the top and Walt Disney World on the bottom all in gold lettering. It also has gold Pixie Dust around the top background area. The middle is a 3-D gold tone globe with Tinker Bell attached at the bottom on a lever the swings around the globe so it looks like Tink is flying around it sprinkling Pixie Dust. This is also gold tone. Because the lever she is attached to is somewhat fragile there were many broken in shipping. It was announced the next day that because of this they were SOLD OUT & even those who had been chosen on the random selection process (being used for the event to make distribution of pins as fair as possible) to be allowed to purchase it on the second day would not be able to receive the pin. Wide speculation as to actual number of these in circulation because of this. Most estimates run around 2,000 to 2,500, but this is only rumor.
