Card front: Feminine yet tough, sweet yet prone to temper tantrums, flirtatious yet glamorous...Daisy Duck is a multi-faceted individual who became a popular Disney character through the years. Batting her eyelashes one moment and screaming at Donald Duck the next, this attractive and spirited young lady isn't shy about making Donald work for her affections or putting him in his place. Daisy debuted as Donna, a Mexican senorita in Don Donald (1937), before acquiring her permanent name in Mr Duck Steps Out (1940). She appeared in 13 Disney shorts between 1937 and 1954, including a staring role in Donald's Dilemma (1947). In that film, Donald suffers amnesia, no longer recognizing Daisy but now possessing a magnificent singing voice. Making the key decision regarding his fate, Dainsy returns him-and them-to normal by dropping a flower pot on his head. Over time, Dainsy developed a "Southern Belle" personality and proved to be an excellent dancer in shorts such as Donald's Crime (1945) and A Good Time for a Dime (1941). Daisy, like Donald, was voiced by Clarence Nash. She appeared in Mickey's Christmas Carol in 1983, portraying the sweetheart of young Ebenezer Scrooge, and showed up in a number of "Mickey Mouse Works Shorts" and "House of Mouse Shorts," beginning in 1999.
Card back: Daisy Duck Facts: Movie Debut: January 9th 1937. Inspiration: A beautiful senorita named Donna in the cartoon short Don Donald. Best Friend: Minnie Mouse. Memorable Sayings: "Well, I never!," "Oh, Donald.." Daisy's flirtatious performance in Donald's Crime (1945) helped win the short an Oscar nomination. In Mr Duck Steps Out (1940), one of the dancers used as reference for the jitterbug dancing of Daisy and Donald was Virginia Davis, who had appeared 20 years earlier in Walt Disney's Alice Comedies. Daisy Duck's first appearance in comics was in the Donald Duck daily strip dated November 4, 1940.
