Front Description
The 12-pin MAIN STREET GAZETTE: HERE'S THE SCOOP! pin-of-the-month series was released at WDW around the first of each month throughout 2008. The series features Mickey disguised as Scoop Sanderson, Magic Kingdom's Main Street Gazette reporter, experiencing classic Walt Disney World attractions. Each shaped pin contains a pin-on-pin element. The backs of the backer cards, printed to look like newsprint paper, share fun facts or trivia about each ride, as reported by Scoop. Chris Chapman from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin.
In this October pin (tenth of the series), Scoop reports from the Soarin' ride at EPCOT and is hanging on for dear life! He's dropped his pencil and paper, in an effort to keep his hat from falling. Scoop is a pin-on-pin element. Chris Chapman from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin.
From the front of the card: Scoop Successful Scorin' Secrets About Soarin'!
From the back of the card: FLYING MACHINE OR CINEMATIC MAGIC? A little of both goes into taking 87 passengers on a journey through a variety of breakthtaking vistas. The revolutionary ride mechanism actually carries Guests 40 feet aloft into an 80-foot projection screen dome, immersing them in the sights, sounds and even the scents of the Golden State [California]. That's the Scoop.
Rides in the series include Haunted Mansion, Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror, Mission: SPACE, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Star Tours, It's a Small World, Test Track, Soarin, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.
