Front Description
The Apatosaurus is turned left, with it head looking back and to the right. His tail curls back to the left at its end. It is brown on the top, then light brown or beige and then a very light moss green for the bottom half.
This Apatosaurus (formerly known as a Brontosaurus) is one of at least seven pins released at Walt Disney World. Believed to have been sold outside the original Countdown to Extinction ride in Animal Kingdom, as all the dinos in the series are part of the ride. An older pin found on the smaller 1 3/4" by 2 1/4" black sale display cards.
The pin measures 1 1/2" (38 mm) wide by 1 1/16" (27 mm) tall. As with all the pins in this series.
The Apatosaurus was a sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Jurassic Period and was one of the largest land animals that ever existed, with an average length of 75 feet (23 meters) and a mass of at least 25 tons (23 metric tons).
