Front Description
First of a series of 100 pins released in 2001 by the Disney Store to mark Walt Disney's 100th birthday. This pin was also given to attendees of the 2001 Official Disneyana Convention. (The only difference between the store version and the Disneyana convention version of this pin is the backer card. The Disneyana Convention version has 'DS Salutes Disneyana 2001" printed at the bottom on the front of the card.)
The pin shows a black silk-screen type image of Walt on gold (hard to scan, unfortunately) beside Mickey Mouse. At the top it reads "One Man's Dream". It's dated 1981, the year a show of the same name aired on T.V.
From Dizpins Archives (21 Sep 2001): Regarding the date on Pin # 1, Walt and Mickey...One Man's Dream. The date is correct, as this pin reflects a two-hour television movie based on Walt Disney's life leading up to the building of EPCOT center. Also, One Man's Dream was a show at Videotropolis at DL, which was originally produced at TDL. The show tells Walt Disney's story through his animated triumphs. One of the most unique elements of the show was that the beginning was all in black and white, then the characters and sets magically changed to full color.
