The Disney Reservation center has quarterly STAR awards for top performers. There are four levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each quarter you achieve the requirements you receive a pin First an "S" then a "T" etc. Then the process starts all over. This is the Platinum Mickey "A" from this program. Only a handful are awarded each quarter. The pin portion of the program ended in 2008 and was replaced by medallions.
It is pin on pin with a Platinum (red) star in the center that Mickey is standing in front of. Unlike the Tinker Bell version of this pin the inside of the star is filled in with black. He is smiling and and has his hands out wide. He is wearing her traditional white gloves, red outfit and yellow shoes.
The pin is 1 1/2" H x 1 1/2" W. The back of the pin says © Disney China, is made of gold metal and has one pinback.
Goofy is on the "S" for Bronze, Silver and Gold. Daisy is on the "S" for Platinum.
Pluto is on the "T" for all.
Tinker Bell is on the "A" (which is represented by a star) for the Bronze, Silver and Platinum. Mickey is on the "A" for Gold.
Donald is on the Silver "R" and Jiminy is on the Platinum "R".
The Platinum level pins are actually red letters.
