Front Description
This is the silver back version of the pin was produced for the Cast Members who worked the Disneyland Electrical Parade each night. The gold back version with tack back butterfly clasp (#1218) has been listed on Pinpics for years.
The pin has an extremely dark blue ackground with gold detail (picture does not pick up all the detail). Mickey (right-center at top) and Minnie Mouse (left top) are above the parade float drum that spells out "DISNEYLAND ELECTRICAL PARADE." Though this is the silver back version, I am unaware if the front of the pin was originally gold or silver (it appears gold, but aging may have changed its original attributes).
The pin measures 1 1/2" (39 mm) wide by 1 1/8" (28 mm) tall. It has a silver back with dotted square patterns and straight-back pinback. The backstamp is, "© WALT DISNEY COMPANY." There is also a silver-back version of this pin with "© WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS" and a light textured back.
Any information on why there were two versions (gold and silver), why the silver version is rarer, and why there are two different backstamp versions of this pin, is appreciated (both fronts appear identical).
