This UNRELEASED pin is a limited edition of 2. It is part of a 10 pin set. It was won as part of a silent auction lot at the June 2009 Museum of Pin-Tiquities Pin Celebration at EPCOT. Here is the auction lot description....
"Where were you on July 20th, 1969? Recall the historic journey of Apollo-11 with this 10 pin auction lot.
This canceled Disney Pin Collection Celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the historic moon landing. The pins in this lot are all pre-productions, each containing "PP" marks on their back stamps.
If the collection would have been released, each pin would have had an edition size of 2,000."
This pin depicts Mickey Mouse's return to Earth. Astronaut Mickey is being plucked from his space capsule floating in the water and air lifted by a helicopter.
There is a logo on the left side of the pin with a yellow moon that reads "40th Anniversary APOLLO 11" in white, decorated with four tiny red stars.
The pins in this five pin series include 70926, 70927, 70928, 70929, 70930.
