One of six pins from the Patriotic Star Salute set of Hidden Mickey pins in the seventh series that was released at Disneyland. Each of the pins features a different Disney character on a patriotic red-white-and-blue star, resembling the American Flag. The small Hidden Mickey icon is in different places on the pins. Pins were originally only available by trading with a cast member. In 2009, pouches containing two random 2009 Hidden Mickey pins were available to purchase for $10.95.
This pin features Benjamin Franklin and Amos saluting in front of a patriotic red-white-and-blue star, resembling the American Flag. They featured in Disney's animated short Ben and Me, which was released theatrically on November 10, 1953. This was Disney's first animated two-reel short subject, and it received an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Subject. A small Hidden Mickey icon is located on the bottom left of the pin.
