PP71362    WDW - Hypacrosaurus (Hadrosaur) from Dinosaur Series

Front Description

This Hypacrosaurus (also Hadrosaur) is one of at least seven pins released at Walt Disney World. Believed to have been sold outside the original Countdown to Extinction ride in Animal Kingdom, as all the dinos in the series are part of the ride. An older pin found on the smaller 1 3/4" by 2 1/4" black sale display cards.

The dinosaur faces left, a true profile of the animal. It is moss green with beige spots or patches or color and a lighter, more muted green on its underbelly.

The pin as shown measures 1 5/8" (40 mm) wide by 3/4" (18 mm) tall. As with all the pins in this series, the backstamp is, "© PINS AND THINGS, Phone number, China." (Information from contacting Pins and Things reveals that the company is still used by Disney for pins, though they now use the Disney copyright on the back of the pins they supply.)

The real Hypacrosaurus was a hollow-crested duckbill variety of dinosaur, measuring about 30' (9 meters) long and weighing up to 4 1/2 tones (4 tonnes).
