The Walt Disney Family Museum opens its doors to the public on October 1, 2009 at 104 Montgomery Street in The Presidio of San Francisco, CA.

 

This pin, as well as, several other different pins are the first pins issued and sold at the Museum Store during its pre-grand opening week, and will also be available for sale as open edition pins to the public.

 

This pin depicts the icon used by the Walt Disney Company for their Ink and Paint Department logo. It is a round pin with three horizontal lines running through the middle and extending a little past the lefta nd right edges. The is entirely of gold metal with a black silouette profile of mickey Mouse seated a drawing table with paint brush in hand. in raised letters above Mickey are the words "INK & PAINT DEPT." Below Mickey on the bottom edge of the circle are the words: "THE WALT DISNEY FAMILY MUSEUM." The surface of the pin is covered in a clear enamel.

 

The pin back has a gold inverted dot waffle pattern. There is one pin post at the top, and horizontally at the bottom is a box with: "(c)2009 The Walt Disney Family Museum, LLC (c)Disney China."

 

The pin post cover is not the Mickey icon type, but a round black rubber cover like that of some of the older Disney pins.

 

This pin measures almost an inch and a half in diameter.
