Front Description
The designer of this pin clearly loved the Caterpillar character from AiW, for the images of Caterpillar are very accurate. The Caterpillar is shown facing forward leaning on the left against a panel that has line sketches of his face.
The background panel of this pin is two-toned, split on the diagonal. And in each section of the background there are sketches of Caterpillar's face in different sizes, each facing in a different direction, drawn in the color of the opposite background tone.
The muted tones of the background colors gives the impression that the center Caterpillar figure featured in front is actually a 3D element, but this is not the case. The center Caterpillar figure is just in front of the background, but the richer more vibrant colors of this center figure gives the illusion that there is some space between the back of the character and the background.
