Because of the huge wave for everything patriotic following the 9/11/01 attack, Disney had trouble keeping the pins in stock. 2 Nov 2001: "These two pins came out early in the day in limited numbers, but late this afternoon DTD had them for sale." 5 Nov 2001: "The Patriotic Mickey pins are being produced in an increased number to supply the need for them. For the time, a limit of two per person, both at park and via mail order, will be enforced until pins spend some time on the racks."
