Front Description
This pin was designed to be given to Cast Members that participated in the Outrigger Canoe Races in the Spring of 2009 at Disney's Polynesian Resort, this pin shows Lilo and Stitch rowing/paddling an outrigger canoe from a perspective of being directly above the canoe. The text reads: Disney's Polynesian Resort Outrigger Races Spring 2009. However, when WDW shelved plans for the Spring edition of this event, this pin design was shelved and only exists in prototype form. It looks like the event went from a Spring/Fall biannual event to an annual event since a separate 2009 pin was issued using Mickey/Donald/Goofy and the event was held in the Summer of 2009 (Pinpics 71511).
The text on the canoe is yellow and does not show up well against the white base inside the outrigger. That is the portion that reads "Outrigger Races Spring 2009".
