Front Description
A plastic pin, this is part of a series of pins released in the 1980s by Monogram Products for Disney, celebrating Mickey next to various letters.
Mickey (top, sitting on the letter O, facing left) is dressed in a casual "dress-up" 1980s style: untucked yellow-orange or gold shirt has sleeves rolled up slightly, pink tie, blue pants or jeans, pink socks, along with a pair of white shoes. His right hand holds a pair of bright red glasses - which he has lifted from his eyes - and his left hand rests on the letter O. The initial is Kelly green with a slight black border. The plastic used is white; it has a tendency to dull or grow yellowish over time.
The pin itself measures 1 1/4" wide (31 mm) by 1 7/8" (48 mm) tall.
The back of the pin has a simplified brooch-style straight back pinback glued to the pin (a norm for Monogram pins back then). The backstamp is, "© THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY, MFG BY, MONOGRAM PRODUCTS, INC., LARGO, FLORIDA 34643, MADE IN ST. LUCIA. The pin was sold on a black sale card labeled "Fashion Pin."
Note: It appears that the same SKU number was used for all (or at least many of) the pins in this series.
