PP84130    Wave 1 - Project Tomorrowland - Shoot for the Stars - Cast Award

Essentially identical to Pin 53593: Cast Member - Project Tomorrowland ''Wave 5'' except for the "WAVE 1" (instead of "WAVE 5") inside the white star on the right side of the pin. The banner along the bottom of the pin says "Shoot for the STARS!"

From what I was able to glean from the Wall Street Journal online, without paying the fee, I got this - "Disney recently rolled out an internal system for handling payroll, accounting and other tasks. It was named "Project Tomorrowland." The article was dated 2/13/04 (which jives with the date). I was told this pin was given to cast members. Apparently, from what I gather, it was a pin issued at the corporate level to the inner accounting bureaucracy who participated in this project. There is at least one other version of this pin - where this pin states "WAVE 1" (or "WAVE 5") the other (identical) pin states "GLOBAL TEMPLATE."

Project Tomorrowland consisted of 5 waves. Upon the conclusion of each wave the participant was given a pin (wave 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5). At the end of the project those who participated in all waves were given a frame to put the pins in. There also is a 3 pin limited framed set (template, waves 1 and 2).
