Released on 2 Nov 2001 (in time for Veterans Day), this patriotic pin features a Mickey-head icon themed after the US flag. Because of the huge wave for everything patriotic following the 9/11/01 attack, Disney had trouble keeping the pins in stock. 2 Nov 2001: "These two pins came out early in the day in limited numbers, but late this afternoon DTD had them for sale." 5 Nov 2001: "The Patriotic Mickey pins are being produced in an increased number to supply the need for them. For the time, a limit of two per person, both at park and via mail order, will be enforced until pins spend some time on the racks."
Similar to PP960, but this is the post-2000 synthetic version that was released for years with different dated backstamps on the pins. Please check the measurements and backstamp on your pin carefully before cataloguing.
