PP87858    Vintage B.O.B. the Sanitation Robot - The Black Hole

This real cloisonne brooch-back pin features Bob (B.O.B.) the Robot from the 1979 Disney live-action sci-fi film, "The Black Hole". Bob is shown facing forward. He is a gold-bordered pin in orange, with red "face areas, white eyes, and a dark blue front. As in the movie, he only has a left "foot" (a round blue space). On his white "belt" is "BOB". A nicely detailed pin.

B.O.B., though a mere antique sanitation robot, proves that even simple robots can be heroes, as he helps robot Vincent and ultimately gives his "life" for the sake of others. Given that B.O.B. was not the main robot in the film, one wonders if there's not a Vincent pin also made during this time period, as well as other pins in a series.
