Some signs to spot a counterfeit version:
1) The paint on the fakes are paler compared to the authentic pins. The brown paint on the chalkboard edge, his blue shirt, his beige pants - all are pale colored.
2) The paint is dull and streaked with lines. There is no shiny finish on the pin nor the silver metal.
3) There is a border around the edge on the back of the pin, therefore the Mickey heads are distorted and do not go off the edge.
4) The Authentic Official Disney Parks Pin Trading Logo is virtually unreadable and undistinguished.
