Front Description
Chip appears in full color wearing an "I Heart (love) Mickey" (in black and red letters and symbols) on a white t-shirt with black bands at the end of the sleeves and neck. He is shown from the waist up with an open mouth smile and his left hand in a thumbs up position pointing back to himself. His head entends above the pin's light blue background which is framed by bright chrome silver shaped as an oval at the top and squared off at the bottom. The lower half below Chip's waist is solid chrome silver with D23 in black Disney styled "D" and numbers centered on the chrome under which are the words: "The Official Disney Fan Club" also in black letters. There is a purple banner with chrome numbers that reads "2012" extending from the level of Chip's waist under his left elbow to outside the frame of the pin.
The back of the pin is a silver sandy grain texture with two pin posts positioned horizontally near the upper portion of the pin. Centered near the bottom is a new D23 Official logo for 2012 which features Dale, arms extended outward, wearing Mickey ears. Below the logo it has: "(c)Disney, MADE IN CHINA." The pin is shipped with the other membership renewal items on an official D23 black velvet backer card enclosed in a cellophane bag.
The offering of this pin is basically a limited release gift with purchase for early renewal, because of the way it was announced in a special "Renewal Edition" of the D23 Fan Fare newsletter e-mailed to all current members of the D23 Fan Club dated 12/07/2011. The pin was listed among the items that accompany the 2012 membership renewal and stated that: "...if you renew by January 31, you will also receive an exclusive D23 pin with that lovable chipmunk Dale! This limited offer is available only to D23 Members who renew by January 31, 2012."
The pin is approx. 2 1/4" x 2 5/8" at its greatest width and length.
