One of nine pins from the 2013 DCA Redwood Creek Challenge Trail Badges set of Hidden Mickey pins that was released in Wave A at Disneyland. Each round pin has a simple outline of a different emblem. The six emblems represent the badges needed to earn the title of “Senior Wilderness Explorer” at the Challenge Trail in the park. Of course, the whole concept was inspired by the little scout, Russell, as seen in the Disney Pixar animated movie, UP! The small Hidden Mickey icon can be found on the right side of the solid-colored pin backgrounds. Pins were originally only available by trading with a cast member. In July 2013, pouches containing two random 2013 Hidden Mickey pins were available to purchase for $10.95.
This pin features the Puzzle Solving badge, a yellow puzzle piece on a green background. To earn this badge in the park, you have to find the animal statues and poems and then match each animal to the correct trait from a poem.
The six common pins include the Wilderness Explorer merit badges for Tracking, Bravery, Rock Climbing, Wolf Howl, Animal Spirit, and Puzzle Solving. The Wolf Howl and Animal Spirit badges are repeated on the two silver Chaser pins. The Wilderness Explorer badge is featured on the Completer pin.
