Front Description
This Donald Duck pin reads "Walt Disney's Animation Research Library" and is hand-signed by the voice of Donald Duck and animator Tony Anselmo. This pin was offered at the 2013 D23 Expo at the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society Booth, but it is unknown whether this was a D23 event exclusive.
The pin is backstamped with the Disney copyright, China, and Limited Edition 500. This is the same pin as PP # 31310, which was LE 500, but Tony Anselmo signed only 50 of those pins as a special offering by the Carolwood Society.
Donald Duck is the train engineer on this 2" (4.1 cm) wide and 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) tall pin. It celebrates the contribution of the Walt Disney Animation Research Library for preserving over 60 million original pieces of Disney animation art.
One noteworthy detail in the pin is the animation registration holes along the bottom (which animators would place over pegs in their table to make sure animation cells lined up properly).
This pin was originally made for a special members-only event at the Carolwood Pacific Animation Research Library.
