Dai-Ichi Life was created in 1902 and was Japan's first mutual life insurance company. This is a three-pin boxed set. The 7 1/4" x 3 3/4" box features a rectangular filmstrip black and white pin showing a classic scene from Steamboat Willie, with Mickey at the wheel of the boat, a rectangular pin that may be a reproduction of the poster for the Mickey Mouse short "The Haunted House", and a black and white pin showing Mickey throwing a football (a scene from the 1932 classic cartoon "Touchdown Mickey." The reverse of each pin has "DAI-ICHI LIFE, (c) DISNEY". Under each pin is the date of the cartoon's original release, plus some writing in Japanese. At the bottom of the set is a small plaque with Dai-Ichi Life and some Japanese writing beneath. The reverse of the box is in Japanese, giving typical safety warnings for parents, how to clean the pins, and the fact that the pins might damage fabric. The pins were made in China by Nihon Bussan Co., Ltd., with a premium goods licensing agreement with Walt Disney Japan Co. Ltd. The set was manufactured and distributed for the Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Co. Individual pins from the set are listed at (#115773), (#115774) and (#115776). Dai-ichi Life is also responsible for another Disney pin set (#26522); individual pins from that set can be found by searching "Life Insurance."
