This pin was released in 2005. It's a featured artist jumbo pin designed by the Disney artist Mark Seppala. The pin has Ariel turned to the left, looking at Sebastian on a blue background and a die struck frame. Can't beat the price for $25 - the sheer size alone is worth it. The box is navy blue cardboard with a clear thin plastic front so you can see the magnificent hunk of metal inside. When you look at it, the box doesn't look grand enough for this gorgeous pin. This is definitely one of the better looking pins for all you Ariel collectors. The colors are beautiful and they all look very true to life. The red he uses for the hair is perfect and the blue for the back ground is one of the prettiest colors around. You can't help but appreciate it. These choices of color tell you this artist really put some love into this pin. The artistry on the frame is amazing, it's uniquely ornate with shells, fish, and plants around it with the Disney Cruise logo top center. Mark has Ursula, Triton, Eric, and Sebastian in the four corners of the frame. I really love the fact he used all the other characters this way. The only thing is that instead of using Sebastian in the main art as well as the frame, it seems he could have used Flounder in one of those spots. For everyone who loves The Little Mermaid you'll agree that Flounder should be here somewhere.
The back of the pin is great; due to the size everything is big, clear, and legible just the way we like. Overall, I love this pin and would recommend it to any Ariel collector out there. As a matter of fact to any Disney pin collector out there!
I'm giving this pin a 4 pin backs out of 5. - disneyfreak619
